Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said the Government has nothing to hide and so had agreed to the Parliament debate.Opposition leader R. Sampanthan said that an independent commission must be appointed to investigate the allegations. He said that the Central Bank has lost its credibility as a result of the allegations. (Colombo Gazette) He commended the announcement by President Maithripala Sirisena that a Presidential commission will be appointed to investigate the allegations. Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) member Nimal Siripala de Silva said the the Presidential commission will conduct a transparent inquiry and submit a report in three months.
